April 8, 2022 - Lubbock, TX

We bid our Dallas friends farewell, and headed west to Lubbock. We visited the gravesite of the great Buddy Holly, paying our respects, thinking of how incredible it is that he left such a wealth of songwriting, singing, and guitar playing on this planet during such an awfully short lifespan. We drove past his childhood home, not far from the place where we played. Flippers Tavern is a fantastic place, with great people and top-notch food. It was really special to play music on the same soil that birthed Buddy Holly. We drove through oil fields and along bumpy dirt roads in west Texas into New Mexico, stopping in Roswell for the night.
